Lin Dan Has Redeemed Himself

The most popular player in the World of badminton I guess is still at it at the Glasgow TOTAL Badminton World Championships. Though he needed a rattling and draining 82 minutes to beat Emil Holst to advance to the round 3 and it just gets harder and harder from this point onward.

He stepped up a gear or two just in time to avoid an upset again against Emil Holst of Denmark in the second round of the badminton world championship on Wednesday, we have seen a lot of upset in this tournament like his old time rival Lee Chong Wei who lost to Brice Laverdez of France and because of that our hopes to see another Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei in the highest stage is lost in oblivion but we still want to see them compete one last time before they store their badminton racquets in the hall of fame cabinet.

Lin Dan came from behind to keep his hopes of a sixth world title on Wednesday as the 33-year-old defeat Holst 19-21, 21-8, 21-16.

It came to a point where they are tied at 16-all before the advantage in experience came to help Lin Dan with the final five points and gain revenge for a defeat in the last Danish Open earlier this year. Lin Dan is currently seeded seventh and he admitted that he was relieved to get through to the last 16.

Lin Dan said “He’s tall and powerful and he gave me a lot of trouble”, “He beat me at the German Open, so I’m happy to reverse the result. Even though it was a long match, I should be OK for the next round since we prepared quite well.”

The next challenge for Lin is Rajiv Ouseph of England. They haven’t met I five years so this is going to be exciting.

Here's the video of Lin Dan and Emil Holst match;

We can all see how happy Lin Dan is when he was able to prove himself again at the world championships. He has prepared very well with this competition and we can see that he is ready for more and ready for the next challenge tomorrow.

Holst was really heartbroken at missing out on a chance to claim the most famous of scalps, we can all see that he had the chance to beat Lin Dan but the pressure gets in him and he look so tired on the most crucial part and that’s when Lin Dan made him suffer and make tough decisions.

Also on the other hand and maybe Lin Dan’s next challenger like Chen Long, the defending two-time champion, Son Wan Ho of South Korea, the No.1-ranked man, and Kidambi Srikanth, the dangerous Indian is on a 12-match winning streak and they are not stopping anytime soon.

Now the legend of Lin Dan continues and we are all excited on how far he can go but of course we want to see him on the top of the mountain again holding that tournament’s trophy in his hands.

Badminton will never be the same again after this legends call it a day so let’s enjoy every bits and pieces of their brilliance in the badminton court as long as we can.

We wish you the best of luck and keep Dominating The Game!
