One

Choose the kind of string that you want to put on your racquet. The strings can be made from natural gut or synthetic fibers also there are advantages and disadvantages to each type, but in general the gut strings are softer and lighter and the synthetic are more durable.

Two

Buy or borrow a stringing machine. Though these machines are quite expensive, but if you are a regular player you might need this because you may approach the game a little different, and it will pay for itself over the years of use you will get from one. Or better yet borrow a stringing machine to your friend or playmates.

Three

Determine the tension level that you’ll need for your new strings. The tighter the strings on your badminton racquet, the more control you can get. Looser strings will have more bounce, allowing you to hit for greater distances.

Four

Now insert your badminton racquet on the stringing machine. The head and neck should be tightly secured in the machine clamps. Your badminton racquet shouldn’t be moved during the restringing process because you might waste your string and your time if the racquet is loose.

Five

Measure 40 feet of racquet string and insert one end into the first vertical hole on the top of your badminton racquet’s head. Move your string all the way down to the neck and then again up to the racquet’s head. Once you have completed this step, pull the string tight and clamp it in place.

Six

Continue the process above until you have finished all the vertical lines. Do not forget to clamp the final string and tie a knot to secure it. Remove the clamp and cut away any extra string.

Seven

Now it is time for you to string the horizontal line by inserting the string into the horizontal holes and move across the racquet. You need to weave the horizontal string in and out of the vertical ones.

Eight

Give some tension on the line and clamp it after you finish each row. At the final row, clamp the string off and tie it with a double know to really secure the strings. Then Release the clamp.
